LUX has teamed up with Mohawk and Dupont to help revolutionize the flooring industry. DuPont has created Smartstrand, a new synthetic fiber that is softer and environmentally friendlier than nylon. Made from corn and other natural products, this new material is more durable, luxurious and stain-resistant than other carpets. The protection on Smartstrand is so resilient that you can wash stains out with liquid bleach! In addition, it requires 30 percent less energy to produce this type of carpet than the traditional nylon, which is sourced from oil. By having Smartstrand carpets you can have beautiful flooring on the inside while helping preserve what’s outside.
